Drop Shadow border using Paint Shop Pro v9

Paint Shop Pro, my favorite image editing program. Here's how you can create a drop shadow effect on your image as below with just an easy 1, 2, 3 steps

Step 1

Open the image you want to work with. For web purpose, you should have resize the image to appropiate size (my prefernce is 700 max width or 500 max height). Select All or press CTL A key.

Step 2

Use Border function or Canvas image to create an extra outter border for your original image. My preference is create border with 50 pixel extra to the original image. Do take note that at this stage, you still have the active selection of your original image (notice that doted line around the original image, meaning that the selection is still active).

Step 3

Use Drop Shadow function in PSP.

In the drop shadow menu box, you can select the colour of shadow you want to create, select the location of the shadow, select opacity of the shadow...etc.

Click Ok and you are done with an image with drop shadow effect
